Why choose Occidental College?
I chose Oxy because of the culture and the sense of belonging I felt when talking with the coaches and players. There Kinesiology program is phenomenal and I’ve heard great things from current players who have that same major. Oxy feels like home and is pretty close to home as well. I’ve always been told to go to a place you are wanted and I feel wanted at Occidental.
What makes you excited about his future in college?
I am excited about my future in college to make new friends on the team and at the college. I am looking forward to be a part of a new group of teammates whose main goal is to win baseball games and to bring a SCIAC championship back to Eagle Rock. I ultimately want to make friends that will last lifetime and be a part of community of hard working people that will foster relationships when I get into the workplace.
Why would you recommend SportsForce to other student-athletes or parents?
I would recommend Sports Force to other students athletes and parents because of the dedication and support you get from your recruiting advisor and the Sports Force Team. Everything I needed throughout this process was efficient and on time with video deadlines before sending out emails or updates with my profile to send to coaches as well. The team is very quick to respond and there was never time the Sports Force Team or Coach Ryan was not able to get back to me within a few hours.
What was your recruiting journey like before SportsForce?
My recruiting process all started with SportsForce and I had no direction for how to get started going into my freshman year. My whole process went through Coach Ryan and the SportsForce Team and I wouldn’t be where I am today without them.
What did your personal recruiting advisor do that made a significant impact?
Coach Ryan made a profound impact on my life as a person and a baseball player. He was there from the jump, helping me get my process started and was always there for questions and feedback. He helped me build foundational communication skills for how to interact with people you want to impress. We would talk through text and over the phone all the time and I had plenty of ups and downs but he always kept me on track with my goals. Coach Ryan also reached out to coaches he had personal relationships to get my name on their radars and it helped to build a starting ground for conversations when I would interact with them. He would help me facilitate these conversations through email to make sure I was saying what needed to said to move conversations along. None of this would have been possible without Coach Ryan’s support and belief in me as a player and I am truly grateful for the impact he has made of my life.
